It definitly has some pretty dark stuff in it. Once you get past that you get into a sort of experimentation phase where you just want to try different combination of materials to see what comes out. After a while though, you realize that the whole point is to grow you girls, so you can kill and harvest their "affinity". So why do I recommend it? First its very unique. It puts you in the driver seat of a deranged and broken man, doing everything he can to save his daughter. The stuff you have to do in the game is freaking insane, but all the while you are learning the story of how you got to this insanity. Overall, well worth your time if you can stomach all the murder.. This game is literally a princess maker. You just murder them to make more princesses. 10/10. Game is ok, gets rather repetitive.Don't buy for more than 10 dollars.. TLDR - It is a great game! Awesome story but you will have to work to get the true ending.Long version: The artwork really puts you into the feel of the story. The music puts the eerie chill into the air. You make your first daughter homonculus and get attached to her as you run your tasks and trials of everyday life. But the question comes down to it.. are you willing to put aside everything to rescue your own flesh and blood daughter? And if that answer is yes, are you willing to murder your newly created homonculus daughter to obtains the means to revive your real daughter?This game puts your good nature to the test.. I liked it. I also wished it had over all been bigger. More homunculus options to create, more rooms to hold them in, and more jobs with more variables. The stat management was just a little bit too simple at this scale, once I'd gotten the hang of it. I think the concept is great though, and I could appreciate what was there. I had a good time playing it, and I was satisfied to be done with it when I finished it. There's not a lot of replay value because it's deceptively linear, but for the price I'm also ok with that. I think if you go in with the right understanding that it's just rather small and limited and just enjoy it for its creativity, you'll have a good time too.. My Lovely Daughter's premise and art are what drew me in immediately. The game is definitely worth getting if you are looking for aesthetic. It was depressing in the beginning as I got attached to my homunculi daughters and then ended them. I had a "favorite" that I told myself I wasn't going to kill all game. That didn't last long when certain rituals have a small window in which they have to be preformed. There are a couple draw backs here though. The game play gets tedious after a couple hours but it does serves to pace out the story. Replayability is really low unless you looking to fully unlock all the achievements and story arcs. For $15 it is a fair buy and one of the more enjoyable games in my library at that price point. It took me about 6 hours to play through.. its a rather unsettling game well i dont want to call it a game its more or less a really unsettling management simulator. its a little creepy but not scary but it really tugs at your supposed moral heart strings. so you have no memory but you find a souless husk in a room with a soul in a fire place and apparently its your daughter. now you have to create little girls that will gain feelings and make money and then kill them in horrific ways to feed there acquired essence to your daughters soul to bring her back. like if you grow attached to virtual creatures well one you probably shouldnt play this and two thats kinda sad. im not saying im hollow and heartless but at the same time i dont really have any emotional attachment to binary code. i would recommend a play but i like the fact you create a bunch of different creatures.i mean its a good concept right personal sacrifice for a greater goal. but i just dont think its done well with this. for one you have to kill way to many of the little people if you actually wanna make good money or get the really go essence like i can compare this to really making hats in tf2 from scrap right. 3 scrap or low quality ingredients makes 1 medium quality or 1 reclaimed and then 3 reclaimed makes 1 refined or 1 high quality basically if you want to make a decent creature that will be worth anything you need to basically murder 27 low quality creatures to make 1 high quality creature which takes way to long to do and plus isnt worth doing because it would probably fill the bar by the time you actually got it.tldr basically very interesting concept but not much of a game you make people send them to places and then kill said people. personally i rather invest a lot time into one of the creatures and live happily with them and let the daughter die.. This game presents some problems in the gameplay, it is repetitive and presents several gaps in the plot, especially in the end. The price also seems to me somewhat excessive. However, the story is an interesting, though simple, approach to a certain concept of evil: everything and everyone is a tool for your goals and your actions, no matter how brutal they are, they are justified. I like how this game can lead to reflections on the moral implications of these issues, or at least on how and why the game fails to address these issues.. so many mindblown since beginning of the game- play tutorial = mindblown- follow the story = mindblown- see the intro warning after playing = mindblownso... how many you sacrifice programmer and artist to make this game ??. Pros:The concept is pretty gripping - create replacement daughters, then sacrifice them for their souls' emotions to fuel your real daughter, and get some alchemical goodies out of them to boot.The overall tone of the game is as dark as you'd expect for the concept, and the story as it develops is interesting.The design of the daughters is interesting, in particular, and discovering the various results of combinations makes for a cool bit of discovery, as is hearing their thoughts in letters.Cons:The story takes a bit of a dive at the end.There is very little challenge. Things don't become expensive over time. There is no time limit. The ways you can lose are so telegraphed that you have to actively seek them out. You quickly get to a point where you have so much money that you can just stack up all the bonuses and have more than enough left over.There is very little progression for the same reason. You get a few upgrades, but once you have them, everything is just a static, and at that point of the game, cheap cost to maintain and wreap all the benefits.Overall:A very dark concept, with cool art and weird designs and a super oppressive tone. But once you've learned the mechanics and seen all the combinations it has, there really isn't a whole lot to go back to re-visit. It becomes very static.
